Karpathy 做了 HackerTube：从 4300 万条 HN 评论中找到 6454 个视频

Andrej Karpathy 不满 YouTube 的推荐，于是做了一个周末项目 HackerTube。他让 Claude 从 Hacker News 二十年来约 4300 万条评论中，筛出反复被推荐的 6454 个视频。按他的说法，整个项目用 Opus 5.5 花了约两小时，观看体验明显更好。

他列出了几个设计选择：

• 不登录也能获得推荐，使用状态保存在本地浏览器会话中。
• 缩略图选取视频中段有代表性的一帧，而非上传者经过大量 A/B 测试优化的封面。
• 评论分析的底层数据打包为一个 zip 文件，其他人可以把它交给 Claude，要求制作自己的版本。
• 另有 HackerTube Longs。

他也介绍了制作过程。默认工具是 Mac 版 Claude Code 桌面应用，模型为 Opus 5.5，使用 Medium effort。他只与 Claude 对话，让它完成工作；自己配合做的手动操作都在浏览器中：从 Google Cloud 界面创建查询 YouTube 视频元数据所需的 API key、启动用于提供服务的 VPS，以及购买域名。他提到，这种配合方式让他想起 MenuGen。

VPS 启动后，他把 IP 交给 Claude，让它更新系统、处理安全加固、部署并优化代码。他说，Claude 完成了这些工作。

Karpathy 感慨，一些过去需要数周甚至数月的项目，如今吃顿早饭的工夫，用少量提示就能做出来。他想知道，还有哪些项目是大家尚未想到的。原帖中的项目链接是 HackerTube。

• Thumbnail is a representative frame from middle of the video instead of the super duper A/B test hyper-optimized user uploads

A bit more on the process: I use Claude Code (desktop app for Mac), Opus 5.5 on Medium effort as my default. I only talk to Claude and have it do everything, the only "manual work" I helped with in tandem was in the browser (reminiscent of MenuGen): 1) I had to create some kind of API key from Google Cloud UI to query YouTube for video metadata, 2) I booted up a VPS box for serving and 3) I bought the domain name. Once the box was up I gave Claude the IP and told it update, secure, harden, deploy and optimize the code, and it did the whole thing.

Many awesome projects that would have normally taken weeks/months even can now be few-shotted for breakfast. What else are we not thinking of.
